Saving Lives Through Music:  The Maternal Newborn Child Health Project, Ethiopia

One in every 250 pregnancies in Ethiopia results in the death of the mother, and 1 in 33 in the death of a newborn baby. Every year 12,360 women die during pregnancy, almost half of them on the day they deliver. Women who go to health facilities have the opportunity to receive life-saving care for themselves and their babies. 
 
Learn how U of A professors Drs. Frishkopf, Aziz and Turnell worked together to create a music video featuring Ethiopian pop-stars to encourage parents to go to a clinic to have their babies.
